The Clearness of Truth
The Clearness of Truth

“The Clearness of Truth”
This is a phrase I heard recently. It stopped me because “truth” should always be clear! Or it should always be clear, right?
We’d like to think that most people do not lie on a regular basis.
At least not on purpose! We may truly believe what we are saying is the truth so we can’t be held liable if it is not.
At least not real lies! You know “little white lies” are not really lies.
At least we do not admit it. If we have said a lie, we tend to hold on to it because of fear of being caught in that lie.
The most defining statement in Scripture to me is when Pilate said, “what is truth?”
“What is truth?” retorted Pilate. With this he went out again to the Jews gathered there and said, “I find no basis for a charge against him. John 18:38
The truth of this moment in time was that the Pharisees had condemned Jesus for something that was not truth. The charges that were brought against Jesus had no legal grounds. He was not guilty of what they claimed He was.
And yet, that did not matter. Pilate moved forward with the death sentence.
What is truth? Or rather, what is the clearness of truth? Because we so often make truth relative, or opinion, or a belief we have. But truth is absolute. Truth is not debatable. Truth cannot be changed. Ever. Truth is fact.
The clearness of truth is something we know and believe in so strongly that there is nothing that can ever change our minds. It is so clearly truth, that it can never ever change or be altered in any way.
God is the Creator. Jesus is the Messiah. The Holy Spirit lives in us. Jesus died for our sins and rose again so that those who believe in the clearness of Truth will spend eternity in Heaven. Amen?
