Rescue - Recovery - Restoration

These are words that usually bring up certain images. Rescue can have us picture being saved from a dangerous situation - or maybe rescuing a stray cat or dog. Recovery can have us picture getting better from a medical issue - or maybe being healed from addiction. Restoration can have us picture a modified house or car - or maybe even a church that we pour money into to update.

But these terms are more valuable when you look at what Jesus does for us.  And these words can follow the process He uses. 

First, He rescues us from a life of sin. Then He recovers us from that echo chamber that repeats in our head that we are worthless, not valuable, not important. And then He restores us into a right relationship with God.

Jesus rescues, recovers and restores us in a way that no one else can. In a way that nothing, and I mean nothing, can do here on earth. Amen?
