…Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. After the earthquake came a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. After the fire came a gentle whisper.  

When we go through tough times, it can feel like God is nowhere to be found.  We are frustrated with the challenging circumstances in our lives, and just want them to go away.  We keep thinking things will get better, but its followed up by more pain, more turmoil, more tragedy - wind, earthquake, fire.  Over and over things just keep happening and you keep waiting and waiting for it to get better. 

In the darkness of the night, in the calmness, in the quiet…despite the chaos of life, if you are listening, if your ears are open - you will hear the gentle whisper of the Lord’s voice.
