The To Do List is Full Up!
Brothers and sisters in Christ (at Christ), I cannot begin to tell you how much I feel, see, and hear the love of Jesus Christ in this congregation.
What do you want us as Christ's Church to count on and celebrate?
So, in a world that is changing and amid our changing perspective, what is constant?
There is an order to what God does, and He orders the world and our lives and even time.
Ash Wednesday invites us to be marked with signs of our mortality and to acknowledge our fragile and transitory nature. It is a time to pause, to put to words our confession of rebellion against God’s will, and to be penitent before Him. Browns, grays, and black make the color palette for this holiday, and the attire, sackcloth and ashes.
So yes, the church is full of hypocrites, just as Alcoholics Anonymous is full of Alcoholics.
We need God’s help to change our nature and His mercy and grace to forgive our sins. This requires confession. Confession is a foundational piece of our faith and practice as followers of Christ Jesus.
.....we have dead, broken parts of our lives (sin), especially when we first come to Christ. These dead, broken pieces are in a heap and need to be cleared out.
God has called each of us and has prepared us for His purposes. Some purposes are unique or not shared by all believers, but some are held in common.
Christ Church Gastonia is a steadfast Christian community, a part of the Global Methodist movement.
