Pray, Pray, Pray
Plus some updates

Hi Church!
Wow what a crazy winter we have had - I’ve never had to cancel in person services two weeks in a row because of weather! Brought back memories of the Covid pandemic. But hopefully you have all started to dig your way out and we will be back in person as a church on Sunday.
And what a great Sunday it will be! It is finally here - Scout Sunday! Come and support the scouts as they help lead the service.
Also on Sunday we will have a reception after the worship service to honor Janice Deal for all her years of service as choir director. Make sure you stick around to tell her how much we have appreciated her service to the church.
As we move into this next season, you will continue to see some changes. I want to remind you that none of these are changes just for the sake of change. These are intended to help us grow as a church so that we can continue to make disciples of Christ! Some of the things that change you may agree with - and some you may not. I encourage you to reach out to me with any concerns you have as my door is always open.
The last thing I want to mention is that many folks give their offering physically at church on Sundays. With us missing the last two weeks meeting in person, as you can imagine, the financials are going to suffer. If you are able, please consider giving what you would normally have given over the last two weeks in addition to your giving this Sunday. Thank you!
Blessings,
Pastor Marcy
Devotion:
We learned last week that the devil cannot hear our thoughts. He cannot read our minds. But what he does is watch us. He watches us, he studies us, he learns from our actions - learns what upsets us, learns what bothers us, learns how to lure us away from the Lord.
He whispers to us:
You are not good enough
You are wrong
Nobody likes you
You are not worthy
He does this over and over until one day we start to believe him. So how do we make God’s voice louder than the devil? How do we block out those whispers?
We pray. And we pray. And we pray. We pray more and more and more and more - and then one day God’s voice shouts over all those whispers! The closer you are to the Lord, the more you will hear only His voice.
Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. James 4:7
