Roadblocks

Almost all of us have come to a roadblock at some point in our life. We can’t see any options. We do not see any way out.

Imagine what the Israelites were thinking when they came to the Red Sea, then turned around and saw the army headed right for them. They had no boat, no canoe, no helicopter, absolutely no way out! They could not imagine any solution whatsoever. They were doomed. 

As Pharaoh approached, the Israelites looked up, and there were the Egyptians, marching after them. Exodus 14:10

So they gave up, certain that they were done for. 

They said to Moses, was it because there were no graves in Egypt that you brought us to the desert to die? What have you done to us by bringing us out of Egypt? Exodus 14:11

Never in their wildest dreams could they have imagined what God would do to save them. They did not even know what to pray for since they could not picture what the solution could be.

But here is the thing. THEY didn’t have to come up with the solution. All they had to do was trust God. 

Moses answered the people, do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. The Lord will fight for you; you need only be still.  Exodus 14:13-14

All you need is to be still. 

All you need is to trust God. 

All you need is to have faith. 

And then God divided the waters of the Red Sea so they could walk right through this monstrous roadblock, and then closed the waters on top of the army so that they were safe.

The Lord provided an unseen path. He made a way when there seemed to be no way. THEY did not know the answer, THEY could not even imagine a way out. But they didn’t have to.  Because God was with them. 



God had the answer. God can make the impossible possible. You just have to trust Him. Turn to Him when you see no way out – He will pave the way. He can provide answers that we cannot.  Our job is to believe that.
