New Beginnings
Getting settled in

Last Sunday, we started the series, New Beginnings, and I shared a bit about myself and the many new beginnings I have faced. But we also learned not to fear stepping into something new - because God not only paved the way, but He will be with us through it all.
Join us this Sunday as we continue the series and talk about Joseph, who is in the Hall of Faith! Through all his struggles and challenges, he not only never lost his faith, but his faith was increased. Great lesson for us all.
As I get started, you may begin to see a few changes. Other than changing your mind, I do know any change can be hard! Many of us are like my daughter who dislikes change so much she would freak out if I just moved the furniture around!
Nothing fundamental is going to change - this is Christ Church Gastonia, and anything that makes us Christ Church stays the same. We will always be a strong community who loves Jesus and each other! But you may see some minor changes here and there, and that is just to keep us fresh and growing.
And to that point, I know many of you are hoping this church will grow numerically. And yes, that is a goal of mine as well. I have thoughts and ideas of things we can do to entice folks to visit our church on Sundays - but here is a task for all of you. Think about what drew you to this church. Think about what would draw you to go to another church. If you were on vacation, what are you going to look for to attend a church in that vacation area? In the coming weeks, I am going to be composing thoughts on what attracts someone to church in this world today. Specifically in Gastonia, North Carolina today - why would someone want to go to church? That is a deep question, one I will be asking the Lord to help with as well - but I am giving you that task as well. Ask the Lord - what can we do to build Your church on the rock?
My door is always open to feedback or any concerns you may have, so feel free to reach out! Last request - please let me know if you are having surgery or if you or a loved one is in the hospital, as I would love to come pray for you!
I am looking forward to continuing to get settled here and to get to know you all. Have a blessed week!
